Emsella Treatment Protocol and Number of Sessions

Standard protocol

The most commonly used protocol consists of six sessions, typically scheduled twice per week over three weeks. Each session lasts approximately 28 minutes.

Why six sessions?

This schedule allows progressive strengthening and neuromuscular adaptation. Completing the full series generally produces better outcomes than fewer sessions.

What happens in a session

  1. The patient sits fully clothed on the chair.
  2. Position is adjusted for optimal targeting of the pelvic floor.
  3. Intensity is gradually increased to a strong but tolerable level.
  4. The device delivers thousands of deep muscle contractions.
  5. The patient can relax during the session.
  6. Normal activities can be resumed immediately afterward.

Adjustments

Some individuals may benefit from additional sessions based on response and individual factors. A provider can help determine the most appropriate plan.
